SIR Education Summer Program Registration

SIR Education Summer Program Registration is here! Limited spots are available, with priority enrollment for SIR enrolled tribal students, followed by SIR households and tribal affiliates. Registration packets will be available starting Monday, May 4th at the Education Center or Tribal Office.

Enrollment closes June 5, 2026 — be sure to secure your spot before spaces fill up!

SIR Youth Reimbursement Program

SIR Youth Reimbursement Program – For School-Age Tribal Members

The SIR Youth Reimbursement Program provides enrolled SIR youths with assistance for the cost of purchasing school clothes and supplies, participating in organized extracurricular sports programs, and paying graduation incentives and/or costs.

Reimbursement for School Clothes, Supplies & Extra-Curricular Programs

Each preschool- or compulsory school-age individual is eligible for up to $350 per calendar year in reimbursement for school clothing, supplies, and programs.

Middle School Graduation Incentive Award

For those graduating from Middle School, there is a $50 incentive award.

High School Graduation Incentive Award & Reimbursement

Additionally, there is a $100 incentive award for graduating from High School, and up to $200 in assistance for high school senior pictures, graduation announcements, and cap and gown expenses.

Reimbursement Requests & Further Information

Reimbursement requests, with their respective receipts, should be made within thirty (30) days of the purchase. Please read the complete SIR Youth Reimbursement Program Ordinance for more details.

SIR Higher Education Scholarship Program

SIR Scholarship Award – During Enrollment

The SIR Scholarship is available to enrolled members of the Susanville Indian Rancheria who have received their High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). The maximum awards per year for college students are as follows: $2,500 for full-time attendance Community College (two-year degree), $1,250 for part-time attendance Community College (two-year degree), $6,250 for full-time enrollment in a University (four-year degree) and $3,150 for part-time enrollment in a University (four-year degree). Awards will be divided into 2, 3 or 4 payments depending on the institution and the terms available to the student. SIR Graduate Incentive Program – After Graduation

The Susanville Indian Rancheria Tribal Business Council recognizes the importance for its members to pursue their post-secondary education. For this reason, SIR Tribal Members are eligible to apply for the Graduate Incentive Program upon completion of a graduate degree. The following incentives can be requested through this program: $500 for an Associate’s degree, $1000 for a Bachelor’s degree, $1,500 for Master’s Degree and $2,000 for Doctoral Degree. Applications must be submitted within one year of graduation, along with a photocopy of the degree certificate. Incentives are awarded once per degree type. SIR Job Placement & Training Program

SIR Job Placement & Training Program Award - During Training

The Job Placement and Training Program Award is available to enrolled SIR members who enroll in a training institute within the tribe’s Service Area. A maximum of $1,000 per semester or $500 per quarter is awarded to chosen applicants. Awards will be subject to the availability of funds. Please note that all continuing applicants must reapply each term (semester or quarter). Further details regarding eligibility and restrictions are available in the Job Placement & Training Program Ordinance document.

SIR Job Training Certificate Incentive Program – After Certificate Completion

Susanville Indian Rancheria Tribal Members can apply for the SIR Training Certificate Incentive upon completion of a job training program. The following incentives may be applied for: $250 for a 12-23 month certificate program or $500 for a 24-26 month certificate program. Please read full application packet for further details.

IHS Scholarship Program

The Indian Health Service (IHS) Scholarship Program provides qualified American Indian and Alaska Native students in health professions with an opportunity to build an educational foundation for their pre-professional careers. The scholarship program provides financial support in exchange for a minimum two-year service commitment within an Indian health program in their chosen health professional discipline.

University of California's Native American Opportunity Plan

The UC Native American Opportunity Plan ensures that in-state, systemwide tuition and student services fees are fully covered for California students enrolled in federally recognized Native American, American Indian, and Alaska Native tribes. This plan applies to both undergraduate and graduate students. Students with greater financial need may qualify for additional grant support to help pay for other educational expenses, such as books, housing, and transportation.

The Native Cultures Fund (NCF)

The Native Cultures Fund (NCF) offers scholarships to California Native students who are actively involved in cultural revitalization efforts. Available scholarships include the Jack Montoya Memorial Scholarship and the Aa-Wok Georgiana Trull Memorial Scholarship. Applications are typically due by the end of March.
